Yesterday morning when I washed my face and brushed my teeth, etc… there was plenty of hot water. Got 2 loads of clothes washed and dried – no problem.
Went to do the breakfast dishes, and there was no hot water. Ok, so what gives?
We have a gas water heater, and when it’s really windy outside, the pilot light can be blown out. My DH has told me or shown me a couple of times how to relight it – yeah, and like I’m going to remember that… As it is, I don’t like matches, and gas combination – so I’m not really sure what to do about it.
So I waited…
My DH was out hunting – and when he came last night – I told him about the pilot light. I even told him about the fact that there was no hot water in the kitchen, but hot water everywhere else. So maybe it’s not the pilot light. Maybe there is a disconnect for the hot water in the kitchen.
He got out his trusty screwdriver, made a small adjustment to the faucet in the kitchen, and voila – we have hot water. Well guess what, I have the same problem again this morning.
I’ve told DH that we need to replace the faucet – since it’s been dripping, and won’t stop, no matter how I place the lever (single lever faucet). Maybe now he’ll listen.
