I have a list of things I need to accomplish, during the lull between Christmas and New Years.
One of the tasks was to set up an Order History system for my customers. This system allows them to log in, and see the status of their order. It even allows me to streamline the emails I send out, so that it includes the tracking number and date of their shipment, as well as any delays in that shipping.
Well, I got that set up yesterday. I took the whole day, went over and over the instructions til I understood everything that needed to be done. Including setting up the email templates. All it takes is one order, from a new customer, to see if it works properly. I have past customer records that I would like to add, and that will take time. So for now, if you have been a customer at Sandi’s T’s, it’s like we are going to start fresh. Your information will be input into the system, an email sent to you with a user name and password, and you can then monitor your order. It will be my responsibility to update your order information, as I receive it!
Another of my tasks is to upgrade our email/newsletter system. That will probably wait until after Christmas, as I want to send a holiday greeting to all of my customers tomorrow, and I need to make sure that anyone who wants to unsubscribe can – without interruption.
The 3rd major task is to upgrade /WordPress. That’s going to take some time as well, and a lot of studying to make sure I know what I need to do. I don’t want to lose any past posts, comments, etc. So for now, I’m just going to read the instructions and see what I need to do.
