I am part of a great group EtsyBloggers Street Team. And one of the things we do each month, is pick a topic that interests us, and write about it. It’s called the Blog Carnival.
As one of millions of people who do not like the way they look in pictures – I am biting the bullet to show you who I am.
This is a picture, taken a few years ago, by my DH of me working w/my serger – when I was updating my website Sandi’s T’s. Notice the full head of hair. It is grey – used to color it brown, but then got over that! I believe I was still working at the time this picture was taken. What makes me think so? Because a few months after I stopped working (in 2006), I had no hair, due to chemo treatments. And that will be another post later on.
I’m using the serger in this picture.
Q – What do I like about the serger?
A – I haven’t really gotten into any exotic sewing with the serger, but I love the way it produces a locking finished looking stitch. I use it for the fabric that is on the underside of the tee shirts I design. You can see what I’m talking about here.
Ah, this picture is taken after I’ve ungone chemo treatment.
Q – What is the shirt you are wearing?
A – That is a pink ribbon denim shirt that I designed as a way of promoting support for breast cancer. The fabric I used, I bought from the quilt shop – it has all nationalities of women with bald heads. Bald is beautiful.
This picture was taken a few months after the chemo was ended – see the short hair? I think I was almost ready to have it trimmed. Have tried to find any pictures I have where my hair is shorter – couldn’t find one – you will just have to take my word for it!
Q – Did you make the shirt you are wearing?
A – Yes I did, it was a design I was trying to come up with. The denim shirt and tee shirt came in handy – as I had to fly to North Dakota that year (2007) in May to be with my oldest daughter when she had to have surgery for uterine cancer. Another post there too!
Q – Is that shirt one of the designs you offer at your website?
A – Not yet – I want to be able to embroider the state flowers – but I’m not sure if I want to offer them on denim shirts, tee shirt, sweatshirts or all 3. So that’s where it stands – in my to do list
I like the short hair – I get it cut about every 4 weeks – almost makes me feel young again! See that smile – that picture was taken during the winter, early this year. And I still look like that!
