Being a cancer survivor myself, I wanted to bring to your attention how much your support means in the fight to cure Breast Cancer.
My story is very similar to many that I’m sure you’ve heard. A lump was found, biopsied, and was cancer. Surgery in the form of a lumpectomy, with a following of chemo and radiation.
I spoke with my Mom yesterday, because I know that breast cancer runs in our family, and I wanted to find out a little of our family history.
There were several women in my great grandmother’s family who had breast cancer. I know that my great grandmother died and my grandmother died from breast cancer.
My mother had her cancer when she was in her 40′s – she found the lump herself. And had a mastectomy, with no radiation or chemo.
Several of my friends where I used to work were also diagnosed with breast cancer, and went through all the surgeries, chemo and radiation too. Everywhere you go, you talk with someone who has had breast cancer, has had a friend or a relative affected. Now more than ever we need to find a cure!
A friend of mine, Jennifer, of Jaybird Designs, who is in the Etsytwitter group with me, is doing a walk to raise awareness about breast cancer. Read about why she is doing this walk here
Lois of Foxy G Knits, another Etsytwitter team member, has put together a selection of items from other Etsy Shop owners who are supporting Breast Cancer research by selling pink ribbon items and donating part of the proceeds.
You can see Lois’ information here
Betty, an Etsy shop owner Brefour has been promoting our team members on Twitter as well – all in an effort to make the public aware of how much more must be done to cure this disease.

No matter what you do, or who you know, if you can support Breast Cancer research in some way – please do so, you will be helping all of us!

High fives on being a cancer survivor!
high five indeed. thanks for sharing your story. just had another friend find a lump a few days ago and is beginning the process. early detection is key. remind your friends and family of the importance of self exams and mammograms. women younger and younger are being diagnosed. do what you can – nothing is too little in this fight.
