Actually it’s my husband’s garden, but I was tasked to sprinkle Epsom’s salt and miracle grow at the roots of my tomato plants. At least I’m seeing the fruit of my husband’s labor – there are tomatoes on several of the plants!!
We have about 100 tomato plants, and it looked like a daunting task and it was! I had to kneel at each plant, and sprinkle a teaspoon full of each around the roots. Then I started working between 2 plants at a time, so I didn’t have to squat or kneel so many times. We have 3 rows of tomato plants. I worked my way through 2 rows, before I had to take a break. I had some lunch and then tackled the remaining row.
After all of that, my legs and knees don’t hurt. Oh, I was a little shaky for awhile there walking back to the house, but I think exercising on my exercise bike has helped to strengthen my legs. We’ll see tomorrow.
While I was out working in the garden, my husband pointed out that we have our first cucumber – not ready to pick – but it’s progress.
And speaking of tomorrow – we officially open our produce stand and start to sell beets and yellow squash. We had some yellow squash last night with dinner and it was divine!
My husband put up the first of the two tents. This one is a 10×15. He built the tables that we use for the produce. He’s so talented!!

Oh’ how I’d love to have fresh vegetables. You’re garden looks wonderful. I look forward to seeing more reaping of what you’ve sewn.
Have a fun holiday and stay safe. Hugs…Tracy
I was just over at Beaded Tail and saw that wonderful hat that you made for cancer patients. I just wanted to pay you a visit and tell you what a wonderful hat that is and what a great thing to crochet some for other cancer patients. I had breast cancer too and would have loved to have a hat like that . It sure would have made things a little easier to have a decent hat to wear. I was never brave enough to go bald.
I love your garden. Nothing better than fresh vegetables but it does look like a lot of work
Hope you have a wonderful day.
