Have you seen these earring holders?

I found these darling little pierced earring holders. Actually, made of Teflon mesh and framed in wood, these holders are hand-painted and have room for lots of earrings. The smaller sized ones, hold 10-25 pairs of earrings (5×7), depending on the size, and the larger ones hold 20-35 (7×10).

I am currently offering a selection of them in both sizes. I have a very limited supply and the lead time for re-ordering is extremely long as they are each hand done. So get them while you can.

The tendancy to get side-tracked – is it old age or just too many things to do?

So I’m doing the following:

turbans scarves

crocheted hats

So how hard can it be to keep things straight?

Working on taxes (6 different businesses and personal) – I have found some transactions that I never entered, entering them, and then rerunning the reports – and trying to concentrate on that.

I have two printers, and HP – one that I bought as a second one – Canon – to print postage labels, and use the other one to print orders. Then I found that the Canon was printing the postage labels with high quality print – I was going through ink like water. So now I print the postage labels on the HP which prints the postage labels as fast draft. I also print orders coming in on the HP and packing slips on the Canon. Ok so you would think it’s a great plan… except when I put a blank postage label sheet into the HP, and then get sidetracked with incoming orders – do you know how many postage label blanks I’ve had to tear up and throw away – cause I printed an incoming order on it? Well – too many to count.

Don’t get me wrong – when I have a large shipment come in that is to be distributed to a lot of orders – I focus on getting the orders packaged and ready to be shipped. It’s only when I have a very few orders that need to be shipped that I get easily distracted with other things.

The phone keeps ringing – we have no caller id, so I need to answer it.

Incoming email – sometimes I get overwhelmed with all the junk email I get. And then I need to weed out the orders so I don’t lose those. I really should teach myself, to leave the emails alone until I’ve finished the order packaging and postage label printing.

In a few days, my hubby will have a chemo treatment. He goes to the same oncologist group that I did when I had my chemo treatments. I have a lot of turbans and crocheted hats that I want to donate. So that requires getting them all ready to go in nice little bags. And creating transactions for a donation to be used on my taxes.

Even now, as I’m writing this post, I find myself flitting from task to task – like a hummingbird, I can’t seem to settle in one place. LOL

Will it get any better??

One of my friends, has just started creating these, and I was so excited when she asked me to feature her head wraps on my website – Sandi’s T’s.

Made of 75% Cotton, 15% Polyester and 10% Lycra, with beautiful rhinestones. They can be machine washed in cold water on the delicate cycle and then hang them to dry. They are 33” x 3.25” in size.

Being frugal is not always a good choice

I have a number of businesses that I run, and when I am packaging orders, I include a copy of the packing slip and a business card or two – placed in a sandwich bag and then placed in the package. I don’t like to put the packing slip and business cards in the package unprotected as they could bounce around during shipping. And I don’t like to put them in the same packing as the product, again to prevent damage. Maybe I’m being a little overprotective, but I’d rather do a little bit more for the customer’s sake.

I had been using the zip lock sandwich bags,

but found that the generic brand that Wal-Mart carries, is a better deal price wise.

I thought about buying a sandwich sized zip bag from Uline, but would have to pay the shipping. We go to Wal-Mart every week and the cost per bag is about the same w/o the shipping charges from Uline.

For the most part – I’ve been happy with my decision. Until this latest box I opened. I would say, out of the 100 bags in the box, about 20 or so have had a defect in the zip, to where there was a hard sharp edge at the corner, and I won’t use that in the event that it would tear into the product package. So I have had to throw out a bunch.

I guess at this point – if it can happen with one box, it might happen again – so I’ll watch to see when the zip lock bags go on sale. Or perhaps I’ll try to get some coupons to help me save money.
