I love summer, seeing all the crops and flowers growing. Took a walk over to my tomatoes, the plants look great since I put the Epsom’s salt and miracle grown on them! Lots of tomatoes. The blueberry bushes are coming along nicely – lots of berries there. When I was working over by the tomatoes a week ago [...] I belong to a cool group – Etsybloggers Street Team. One of the things we do, is to blog about something that interests us. This week’s blog subject is ‘Tell about your gardening plans for the upcoming growing season.’ I’m going to go out on a ‘limb’ here, and talk about my husbands gardening aspirations. Me – [...] If you have been reading my posts, you know that we have a farm and raise vegetables and melons to sell at our produce stand. Every day, I go to gather the eggs, and I’ve been watching a volunteer watermelon plant growing. We grow watermelon, and my DH loves to eat watermelon – and well, now you know [...] Just had to take a picture of this cantaloupe that my DH picked this morning for our produce stand. I haven’t seen one or two like this before, so it should be a great conversation piece today as customers come in. What should I charge for it – [...] I mentioned the other day that we are sadly lacking in the rain department, here on our farm. There have been thunderstorms all over the area, but they seem to skirt us more times than not. The other morning, we found that we had gotten a whopping 1/4 inch of rain. Well the ground was nice [...] Last year at this time, we opened our produce stand for the first time – around the 6th of June, with an abundance of vegetables. We had squash, cucumbers, potatoes, beets, and carrots. We started selling sweet corn around the 26th of June last year. The weather last year was iffy. We had good rain in [...] |
