We have so much fun making our custom designed shirts for you. Many of them are made with our snip-snip technique. We have provided photos and explainations on this page, for you to see how the work is actually done.

Select the size of the pattern needed for the shirt, and then outline the pattern. We use an ink marker that disappears with water. |
Draw grid lines to complete the layout of the pattern. |
Place coordinated fabric inside and pin to shirt. |
Sew fabric to shirt in grid pattern. |
Serge the edges of the fabric so it won't unravel or fray. |
Cut the sewn squares. The technique is called Snip-Snip. |
Your finished product includes a contrasting zigzag stitch as an outline, and then some type of embellishment. It could be jewels, buttons, applique or paint, depending upon the design.
You will notice that all the squares are open. The more you wash your shirt, the more the shirt squares will curl back to reveal the fabric underneath.
The design pictured is a special request that we did - a Bee Hive, with an appliqued opening and a Bee button. The fabric underneath has bee hives on it.
